Advisory Board

Incubator Advisory Board Guidelines

  1. Purpose:

    The NDSU Research & Technology Park Incubator Advisory Board serves as an outside resource for entrepreneurs, provides coaching and mentoring, links incubator clients to the business community and North Dakota State University. The Advisory Board also advises and recommends new ideas and opportunities involving the incubator operation to the NDSU Research and Technology Park governing Board of Directors.
  2. Term Length:

    1. Members shall serve two year terms.
    2. Members may be allowed to serve consecutive terms.

    The Advisory Board Chair shall be selected by the President of the NDSU Research and Technology Park Board of Directors in conjunction with the NDSU Research and Technology Park Director.

  4. Meetings:

    1. Meetings shall be held on an as-need basis to provide prompt attention to potential incoming companies
    2. Quorum. A simple majority of the membership must be present for a vote to occur.

  5. Advisory Board Responsibilties:

    1. Assist in the evaluation and selection of potential, eligible incubator clients.
    2. Provide on-going support for refining and updating policies for incubator programs and faciliry operation.
    3. Market the incubator to potential stakeholders and client business
    4. Support the incubator's Business Development Specialist in the establishing and managing the professional services network, mentor network, investor network, etc.
    5. Support the NDSU Research and Technology Park Director and Business Development Specialist in community fundraising.
    6. Provide mentoring and coaching as needed to incubator clients to develop succesful client businesses
    7. Annual review of benchmarks / accountability and suggestions.
