The Research I building was the second at the Research and Technology Park to be completed, and the first to be leased by NDSU. The 40,000-square foot building will eventually house 115 members of the faculty and staff, including the researchers involved in the initial phases of NDSU's new nanotechnology development efforts.
Because of its recent completion, the Research I building hasn't been utilized to its full capacity yet. Several departments finished the process of moving to the new location during Spring 2002, and the reaction has been very positive. Due to the close proximity to the NDSU campus and excellent support systems — including a shuttle bus every 15 minutes — the research park is closely integrated with the rest of the campus.
