The NDSU Office of the Provost, in partnership with the NDSU Research and Technology Park, announces the 5th Annual Innovation Week scheduled for March 3-7, 2014. Watch for Innovation Week ’14 events throughout the 2013-14 academic year, including the 3rd Annual Innovation Challenge ’14, a competition focused on the innovative work being done by NDSU students.

Announcement of Innovation Challenge '14 Semifinalists

- Boot Camp 2 will be held on Tuesday Dec. 3, 2013 from 6:45-8:15 p.m. It will be held at Sudro Hall in room 27. Jonathan Tolstedt will be presenting "Protecting Your Innovation: Patents and Other Intellectual Property Concerns" as well as a presentation on preparing your team's poster for the Poster Showcase Competition!
The purpose of Innovation Week is to:
Encourage students to be innovative thinkers
Enhance student awareness for innovation as a precursor to entrepreneurship
Empower students to pursue entrepreneurship as a career choice
Expand student access to resources available for innovators and entrepreneurs
Engage the current entrepreneur and business communities with students
The competition is open to all NDSU undergraduate and graduate students.
A total of $20,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to students with the most innovative ideas.
The North Dakota Corn Council is once again a generous sponsor of the event to encourage the development of new uses for corn-based products in the marketplace. Their desire is to find innovative thinkers to develop new products and services for corn in the areas of farming, storage, transportation, feeding and processing.
The competition will have three tracks:
1. Products of any kind
2. Services of any kind
3. Goods/services focused on corn – farming, storage, transportation, feeding, processing
First-place winners in each track will receive $5,000. Second- and third-place winners in each track and the People’s Choice Award recipient also will receive cash prizes.
