In celebration of National Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Day, we wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to meet our friendly neighborhood Fargo SBDC Director, Paul Smith.
Paul serves Cass, Steele and Traill counties from his office in the Incubator, and he spends his days working to help small business owners succeed. The SBDC’s mission is to help ND entrepreneurs start, manage and grow their small businesses by providing expertise, technical assistance and information. The best part: all of their assistance is offered at no cost to clients.
Paul says his time is usually split between new startup companies and established small businesses. Your first meeting with Paul might include information about business set-up, business planning, market analysis, financial projections or funding your business. Paul also works with existing small businesses that are looking to expand or are facing operational challenges and could benefit from a “fiscal health checkup.”
“I think North Dakota entrepreneurs have a can-do, never-quit drive, and they have a desire to see others succeed as well,” Paul remarked, “North Dakotans see the value in being part of a larger collaborative community, and that unique combination of traits creates a great environment for small business success.”
If you want to start your own business or if you have already joined the ranks of small business owners, the SBDC is here to help you succeed. You can visit their website, give Paul a call at 701-499-5273, or come visit the Incubator at the NDSU Research & Technology Park.
