US Patent and Trademark Office Visits Fargo

Molly Kocialski, the Director of the Rocky Mountain Regional United States Patent and Trademark Office, came to visit the thriving entrepreneurial community of Fargo, ND. Over the course of her trip she met with a variety of local entrepreneurs, met with university decision makers, faculty, incubator tenants and Innovation Challenge students. Her visit was beneficial and created excellent conversation regarding the patenting process.

Luck would have it that her visit coincided with the very competitive 1 Million Cups Fargo vs Kansas City (which Fargo won), as well as for RDO’s Ron Offut and Bill Marcil Sr. from Forum Communication’s interview. The packed crowd gave Molly a sense of the community that supports the entrepreneurs around them. She was introduced to the vibrant and supportive community of Fargo, North Dakota. 1 Million Cups could showcase the abundant opportunities for start-ups.

Molly ended her visit with a discussion at the NDSU Incubator regarding the intricacies of the patenting process. Those in attendance found the information educational and inspiring. Molly had her audience engaged and asking detailed questions.

If you missed Molly Kocialski’s visit then look for it next year in our upcoming events.
